In 1999, Michael Jackson held two benefit concerts to raise funds for the Red and Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. While he was performing Earth Song in Germany, the bridge constructed as part of his stage dropped with him on it and he continued to sing. pic.twitter.com/f57bwqxVsE

The bridge didn’t stop at its pinnacle as it was supposed to during rehearsals and when he performed in Korea. It just came crashing down. He held on to the railing, continued singing while it was falling. His back suffered immense pain.

When he went back stage to change for his next song, obviously in pain, they told him to stop the performance and he refused saying he didn’t want to disappoint his audience. He had to be taken to hospital immediately after the concert.

This was an eventful two concerts because when he performed the same song in Korea a week before, a fan jumped on his crane. He held on to him, he didn’t want a fan falling to his death. Security had to drag the fan from the stage as soon as the crane landed. pic.twitter.com/bfGQWXgN8z

At about 18 seconds, the crane drops suddenly because it was not designed to carry two people and the rehearsals had only prepared to drop a single person, hence the sudden careening down. Was almost tragic.

Here, a fan somehow evaded security during a performance of Smooth Criminal and his dancers grab the fan to save him and he continued like nothing had happened. These must have been scary moments. pic.twitter.com/iJaTa6Rsl9

I almost forgot this one. A fan fainted in his arms on stage and had to be carried out by bodyguards. pic.twitter.com/JEfdZluJyl
