British artist Damien Hirst, 41, created an unique skull art which was sold last week at a record price of 100 million dollars (75 million euros). According to the London gallery the price is a new record for work sold by a living artist.

Shall I call it beautiful? I don’t think so.

Ths artifact named “For the Love of God,” is a skull cast in platinum and encrusted with 8,601 diamonds. Death is one of the central themes in his works and the skull used in this work is considered to be from 18th century.

He once said that the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States were like a work of art, but later apologized. (source)
