GoDaddy founder and CEO Bob Parsons is under fire for killing an elephant in Zimbabwe. He killed an elephant and posted her ‘heroic’ act in a form of video in his personal blog. Not everybody liked the scene of the ‘killer Bob’ sitting on the dead mammoth and the villagers tearing the giant’s flesh the next morning:
I am not a PETA fan but I do love elephants. I cannot understand how anyone can kill an elephant for ANY reason. I use godaddy for hosting my website and am now having to consider another company. Elephant killing for fun?
“Problem elephants”…what about problem people?
In response to the killing, many have moved their domains to other domain hosts. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has closed its account with GoDaddy and has asked others to follow suit. A rival to GoDaddy, Namecheap, has even gone so far as offering to donate $1 per domain transfer to Save the Elephant and a discounts to each domain transfer.
