There is no reason to celebrate this world record. The smelliest man in the world, Kailash Singh, hasn’t washed himself for more than 37 years. The man stopped bathing or cutting his hair (hair has grown to 6 ft long) since 1974, just after getting married.

The world’s most expensive razor can be yours if you can spend $100,000. The hefty price tag comes from sapphire blades and Iridium handle. Iridium is considered to be the strongest and the rarest metal found in earth.
The solid white sapphire blades in the razor is guaranteed to last a decade. For that 10 years, Zafirro will provide free servicing, professional cleaning and re-sharpening, if required. The blades are extremely sharp, hypoallergenic, and won’t have problem of oxidation and corrosion.
Zafirro, the manufacturer is planning to produce only 99 of those razors as the metal, iridium, is 10 times more rare than platinum. Iridium is primarily used in things like rocket engine, where durability is critical.
A BC blogger and writer, Derek Miller, died on May 3, 2011 after writing a blog post, to be published after his death. The 41 year old writer’s final request to his family and friends was to publish a blog post titled : "The Last Post" in his blog penmachine.com.
His wife Airdrie has started a Derek Miller Memorial Fund. The donations collecteed in the fund will go to a trust fund for the kids’ education and world travel.
Update – I am going throught the painful account of waiting the death in both Derek’s and his wife’s Airdrie’s blogs. It seems more like taking a slow poison and talk about every little feelings of death creeping in.
RIP Derek!

A funny comment "he did the maths and found: after taxes it wasn’t worth the hassle."
Well, that might not be true. What is true is that a mathematician was a true genius to solve a century old problem – one of the seven listed on Cambridge, Massachusetts’ Clay Mathematics Institute’s Millennium Prize list.
The Russian mathematician, Grigori Perelman, solved the Poincaré conjecture, a 100-year-old problem. The solution published in 2002 and 2003 proves that any shape without a hole can be formed into a sphere. But, it took several years for a team of mathematicians just to validate his results and offer Perelman a prize of one million dollars. He however rejected the prize money.
Grigori Perelman doesn’t like to be interviewed or get any media attention. A reporter convinced the mathematician to talk after first contacting Grigori Perelman’s mother through the Jewish community of St. Petersburg. The mother took the trouble of convincing her son, a feat no other journalist had done till that time.
When asked for the reason he refused the million dollar prize, Perelman said, "Emptiness is everywhere and it can be calculated, which gives us a great opportunity. I know how to control the universe. So tell me, why should I run for a million?"
Yes, being a genius doesn’t make one wise or right. Or, being wise or right are relative things depending on how you see the world. I won’t prefer to judge the mathematician’s take of his life and style of living.
Do you think he did the right thing by rejecting 1 million dollar? (Photo credits AFP and Wikipedia)
The initial response to Canada’s wedding gift of $50,000 to Prince William and Kate Middleton was not that pleasant.
Many believed – with all the current financial mess, wasting money on gift to the Royal wedding is the least expected expenditure of the government. Some also argued that the Royals should have acted decent enough by not accepting such unnecessary gifts. But, these people also ignore the fact that the gift goes to a Canadian charitable organization, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary.
The Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, said the government of Canada offered this gift on behalf of all Canadians. He added, the gift will be sued to help fund the search-and-rescue program, and to help prevent injuries or loss of life at sea.
The royal couple’s one of the honeymoon destination will be Canada. The June 30-July 8 visit will cover areas in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Ottawa.
GoDaddy founder and CEO Bob Parsons is under fire for killing an elephant in Zimbabwe. He killed an elephant and posted her ‘heroic’ act in a form of video in his personal blog. Not everybody liked the scene of the ‘killer Bob’ sitting on the dead mammoth and the villagers tearing the giant’s flesh the next morning:
I am not a PETA fan but I do love elephants. I cannot understand how anyone can kill an elephant for ANY reason. I use godaddy for hosting my website and am now having to consider another company. Elephant killing for fun?
Some asked:
“Problem elephants”…what about problem people?

This is a funny but real wedding representing the new social networking generation. The groom by the name "Locuester" in YouTube changes his relationship status in his Facebook account and wrote in his Twitter status before even kissing his bride. Although he didn’t tell his bride about his plan, he had her phone ready, to be handed over at that time to do the same.
He wrote:

Happy fifth birthday Twitter!
Five years ago, today was the day the first tweet was sent. when @jack, @ev, @Biz and a small team started it they didn’t know it will get this big and grow to a team of more than 400 full time workers.
but how will it survive?
@Biz wrote in the official Twitter blog:
Twitter users now send more than 140 million Tweets a day which adds up to a billion Tweets every 8 days—by comparison, it took 3 years, 2 months, and 1 day to reach the first billion Tweets. While it took about 18 months to sign up the first 500,000 accounts, we now see close to 500,000 accounts created every day.
Twitter and Facebook are considered to be the vehicle of current day social networking. Although some, after watching is birthday video, suspect Twitter might be off-track when communication between general public. The video focuses on portraying Twitter as a platform of following celebrities rather than being a social network. Watch the video and decide if it is more about who you follow than what you share!
And that cost the 48-year-old man a whooping $200,000. Chicago Sun-Times reports, the man from Naperville, Illinois was shocked when the police told him that his girlfriend of more than two years, actually never existed.
The guy is told to be in relationship with the so-called girlfriend for two and a half years and it seems they had never met in that time. In that time he wired about $200,000 in cash to his cyber-girlfriend to several bank accounts in Nigeria, Malaysia, England and the United States.
The love affair fell in "trouble" when he called Naperville police on Wednesday to ask for their help in locating the woman. He believed, she was kidnapped in London. The only identification card possessed by the boyfriend was actually a a sample Florida driver’s license.
This story should be an eye-opener for those who are having affair online – without meeting your girl/boyfriend.
A little Egyptian baby girl was named name Facebook. The young Egyptian dad, Jamal Ibrahim, has decided to call his first daughter "Facebook" in recognition to it’s role in his country’s political revolution.
According to an Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram, the baby’s family and friends have gathered around the baby in support of the Egyptian revolution that was started on Facebook. After the the President resigned on 11 February, Egyptian people have hailed the role of Facebook it the uprising.
Some argue:
Nobody can deny that Facebook has became the symbol of freedom for Egypt. But, just because Facebook helped them in their revolution doesn’t mean people should give their child a stupid name.
Others support the name:
We can’t judge people by their action without knowing their social and cultural aspects. If the girl name is spelled "Fazbuk" or something like that, it will be a nice Arab name and won’t conflict with the social networking website.
About odd names, I wrote previously about Venezuela almost banning such names.
